Monmouth College Classics alumni have found rewarding careers as high school Latin teachers, college professors, librarians, social workers, writers and student service workers. The Classics Dept. at Monmouth College offers its majors:
• an active chapter of Eta Sigma Phi, the national Classics honorary society;• prizes in Greek, Latin and Classics at Honors Convocation;• membership in the Archaeological Institute of America;• monthly archaeology lectures by nationally-known archaeologists;• the annual Bernice L. Fox Classics Lecture;• the annual Harold Ralston Classics Writing Contest;• the annual Cena Classica (a banquet consisting of only Old World foods)• the Latin Performance Scholarship • short academic trips abroad
