a saturated hydrocarbon enzyme salt formed from an acid whose name ends in -ic unsaturation of an organic compound, especially one having a double bond having or taking a valence higher than in corresponding -ous compounds a compound of two elements 1. a neutral chemical compound, such as a glyceride or protein, as distinguished from an alkaloid or basic substance 2. an enzyme 3. a name of a drug or pharmaceutical product halogen salt formed from an acid whose name ends in -ous alcohol or phenol 1. an oxygen-containing or ketone compound 2. a chemical compound containing oxygen, especially in a carbonyl or similar group carbohydrate occuring with a valence that is lower than that in a comparable -ic system unsaturated solid alcohol compound of steroid group |
