THE TRIAL OF PHAEDRA O.J. may have had the trial of the 20th century, but here’s the trial of the last three millennia: Phaedra, the wife of Theseus, is hereby charged with infidelity to her husband and with an illicit, incestuous love for her stepson Hippolytus. You are a member of the defense or prosecution teams. In class use Euripides’ Hippolytus to prepare your opening remarks which will be presented to the jury (the class) on Thursday.
