Easy Canned Grape Juice Pick grapes off stems. You can use ones which are still a bit green but remove the wrinkled and bad ones. Wash them. Then pack the grapes in quart (not pint) jars. Add 1/2 cup of sugar. Then fill the jars with water. Leave at least one-half inch of space at the top. Seal the jars and put them in a boiling water bath for about thirty minutes. Let the grapes sit in the jars for several weeks before using. The color of the water will darken with time. When you want to use the juice, drain through a sieve.
